Department of Library and Information Science

College of Public Service and Education

The Department of Library and Information Science contributes to the development of the study of library and information science, the facilitation of library activities and the nurturing of expert librarians. For this purpose, we educate in ways to organize various types of information resources and how to utilize service knowledge and information. We aim to produce prepared experts who can create high-quality services with the capabilities required by the library, information center, publishing organizations and other information treatment and service organizations. The Graduate for Library and Information Science was established in September, 2010 and has produced expert libraries and talents in information science. We aim to produce capable librarians and information experts who can contribute to a variety of areas. Through systematic practical training along with a variety of theoretical research on production, flow and utilization of knowledge and information in the knowledge and information-centered 21st century, students learn the latest information and knowledge management skills. In particular, we specialize in nurturing librarians by theme, career and subjects. We have strengthened our job competitiveness by providing lectures by influential professors, special lectures by well-known figures from home and abroad, internship experiences and continuous counseling about career paths with professors.
