Department of Police Science

College of Public Service and Education

The Department of Police Science was newly established in 2013 to nurture and produce police officers who are equipped with an outstanding character and the professional capabilities required in future society. The Department of Police Science identifies important and special features of police roles for the police, judicial and administration organizations including courts and prosecution and promotes the understanding of the field to respond to the newly-emerging demands for security as the emergence of a new industrialized society increases importance of industrial security. This studies ways to improve police administration policies. The department was newly established to produce talents in the area and the field of study and to expand job opportunities for police officers responding to increasing demands for security. In line with the Only One University Strategy pursued by the glocal campus and its vision to have a solid status at home and abroad, it provides various learning opportunities for high-level language proficiency and computer skills. It also provides practice and theory-oriented curriculum and special lectures and ongoing financial support to expand job opportunities in becoming police officers. It also helps students to get an opportunity at relevant organizations around the world such as police, prosecution and courts in connection with the Department of Police and Law, the Graduate School for Special Studies. By providing assistance such as an education liked with a closely located National Central Police Academy, we aim to establish our status as a specialized department in police science and to produce capable researchers in police science and police officers.
