Department of Social Welfare

College of Art & Design

Social Welfare is an organized and systematic social effort to ensure the satisfaction of individual lives and improve the quality of life by addressing and satisfying various social problems in modern society and the social needs of people. In other words, social welfare is not just a theory, but it is an applied science that translates from theory to the real world. Thus, the department emphasizes the interaction between theory and reality so that it can acquire knowledge, methods, and skills in order to understand, analyze, and solve various problems in humans and society. As a practical academic field with comprehensive and applied science characteristics, the Department of Social Welfare’s basic goal is to cultivate professional social workers based on basic theory and practice.
